* It's good to suffer loss, for it draws me to the Cross where God's loss is more than what anyone ever lost. * We cannot hear what the stories of the Bible are saying until we hear them as stories about ourselves. * Let go of control. * Trust God. Thank God. Think about God. Talk to God. Talk about God.

Do You Get It? (Luke 24:13-35)

"They stood still, their faces downcast" [with grim, saddened expressions] (Lk 24:17b).
"...but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem/liberate Israel" (Lk 24:21a).
"They asked each other, 'Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?'” (Lk 24:32)
  • Do you have a "lightbulb moment" that comes to mind?
  1. When you are disillusioned, disappointed or dejected, do you talk with others "about everything that had happened" (Lk 24:13-14), or isolate yourself?
  2. When you are downcast, are you aware that Jesus is walking beside you (Lk 24:15-20, 22-24) [Waiting to re-interpret your story through His lens]?
    • What causes dejection, disappointment and disillusionment (Lk 24:21)?
