- Explain:
- “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.” Augustine, Confessions.
- "You are the Holy of Holies and I am sinful thrash." Thomas Kempis.
- What does Jesus' invitation mean to you (Mt 11:28; Jn 14:27)?
- If you are not invited, can you freely come to God?
- Why might you become "weary and burdened" (Isa 59:2; 40:31; Eph 4:18, 19; Col 1:21)?
- What does it mean that Jesus "will give you rest" (Phil 4:7; Rom 5:1; Isa 26:3)?
- Why are people who are seeking rest still restless (Gen 4:7, 14; Job 3:26; Isa 59:8)?
- How does the Spirit give you life (Jn 6:63; 1:1-3, 14; Ps 1:2; 119:97; 18:1)?
- What does it mean to feed on Jesus' body and drink his blood (Jn 6:53, 54, 55, 56; Mt 26:26, 27-28)? {If you like to, you can contrast the Catholic and Protestant interpretation.}
- Ultimately, what does God want from you (Dt 6:5)?
- Do you love God fully and completely?
- Do you ALLOW God to love YOU fully and completely?
- How do I love God back, who has unconditionally loved me (Lev 19:18; Mt 5:44-45)?
- Do I do a thousand other things to avoid loving God with my whole self?
- Do I have a sense of how good (Ps 100:5; 145:9), holy (Lev 11:44; 1 Sam 2:2) and just (Rev 16:5) God is?
- Do I examine my life and my conscience against the Ten Commandments (Exo 20:1-17) and the Beatitudes (Mt 5:3-11) regularly? Daily?
- Have I violated any of them? Where am I failing?
- Does God prompt me to think, speak and act in big ways only? In small ways?
- Am I the person I should be? That I want to be?
- Should you go to church and Bible study when you know you have committed a sin?

- * It's good to suffer loss, for it draws me to the Cross where God's loss is more than what anyone ever lost. * We cannot hear what the stories of the Bible are saying until we hear them as stories about ourselves. * Let go of control. * Trust God. Thank God. Think about God. Talk to God. Talk about God.
